Adventure Bike Guides

Gary G.

Gary has been a cycling enthusiast for more than three decades.  He enjoys all forms of riding- road, mountain, gravel, cyclocross, fat biking, cruiser riding, and tandeming with his lovely wife Monica.  Monica is a Lake Geneva native and Gary developed his love of SE Wisconsin during their summer visits from the desert of Arizona.  They relocated to Lake Geneva permanently in 2007 with their two sons.  Gary  jokes he has been lost on every road in SE Wisconsin and Northern Illinois.  But he learned so much in those adventures and is excited to share these roads with you, too.

Bill K.

Now retired, Bill is a recovered Oak Park/River Forest Illinois bike club enthusiast. Since 2016 he has been exploring Lake Geneva’s low traffic country roads, rolling hills, pastoral farm scenery and lake vistas. He especially appreciates that the region’s beautiful bicycle routes are devoid of risky big city intersections. In addition, Bill actively bike-packs throughout the Midwest

Kent L.

Kent really enjoys being a part of our local cycling community. His day job is at the grain elevator so don’t be surprised if he points out farms and crop conditions on our road rides. Kent is a cyclist who likes to ride all bikes, whether it is mountain biking around the Kettle,   or exploring the rustic country roads of SE Wisconsin or grinding gravel unpaved backroads & trails, or even riding a fat bike in the winter snow.   Kent is a huge fan of keeping the rubber side down (most of the time) and urges others to do the same!

Shannon B.

Shannon is the fourth of five daughters.  Dad was hung up on having a son, so he was determined to make tomboys of his little girls. Shannon gained tremendous confidence in her BMX years (age 6-12)  She was constantly exploring new places to ride, and even building trails in the adjacent Maki Woods.  She is forever grateful to the owner of those woods for turning a blind eye to her daredevil terrain park features.   Shannon eventually evolved to road biking and finds it inspiring.  But she still embraces her inner child by racing mountain bikes.  These personal cycling experiences have taught her both the "Rules of the Road" and tricks of the trade to be a successful rider.  Shannon has crammed many miles & adventures into the past fifteen years, even picking up medals or podium spots in various duathlons and mountain bike races.  Shannon promises a memorable ride as an Avant Adventure Guide.

Butch W.

Butch is the guy you count on. He makes sure every single rider is with the group. He likes his bikes. He likes to ride. He likes to share stories of his interesting job. Ask him!

P.S. He likes to balance while mingling, and mingle while balancing.
